구조재료 및 응용유변기술 연구실(SMART: Structured Materials, Applied Rheology and Technology)은 나노 및 미세구조를 갖는 고분자재료의 제조와 재료의 특성분석을 통한 기능성을 갖는 차세대 유기신소재를 개발하기 위한 기초 및 응용연구를 수행하고 있다. 본 연구실에서 다루는 나노-미세구조 고분자재료는 벌크재료(Bulk Materials), 나노복합재료(Nanocomposites), 미립자재료(Microparticles), 다공질재료(Porous Materials), 필름/쉬트재료(Polymeric Films and Sheets) 등 재료형상에 따라 5분야로 세분화할 수 있으며 대부분의 재료는 다상계 복합재료 및 유무기 하이브리드 재료로 구성되어 있다. 개발중인 재료는 다양한 분석을 통해 특성 및 물성을 파악하고 이를 기초로 최적 설계 과정을 거치게 되는데, 그 중에서도 본 연구실에서는 유변물성 해석기법을 적극 활용하여 차세대 신소재를 개발하고 있다. 최근에는 전기자동차의 핵심 부품인 리튬이온배터리의 전극재 슬러리의 제조공정에 관한 연구를 진행하고 있다. 연구의 관심은 음극재 슬러리의 포뮬레이션, 믹싱, 코팅 및 건조 공정에서의 균일성을 확보하기 위한 유변물성 해석이다.

  (Welcome to the laboratory of Structured Materials, Applied Rheology and Technology (SMART). Our lab called "SMART" is conducting basic and applied researches to develop next generation materials with functional properties through the preparation and characterization of nano- and micro-structured polymer materials. Nano- and micro-structured polymer materials covered in our lab are divided into five sub-areas: Bulk Materials, Nanocomposites, Microparticles, Porous Materials, Polymeric Films and Sheets. Most of the materials are composed of multicomponent composite materials and organic-inorganic hybrid materials. The materials under development are characterized by various techniques and then the optimally designed properties are determined based on characterization. Among various analytical techniques, our lab is actively utilizing the analysis technique of rheological properties to develop next generation materials. Recently, research on the manufacturing process of electrode slurry for lithium-ion batteries, which is a key part of electric vehicles, is being conducted. The interest of the study is rheological analysis to maintain stability in the formulation, mixing, coating, and drying processes of the anode slurry.)
