From 6th to 12th November 2022, the first mobility of students and teachers within the program took place in Thessaloniki. Students and teachers from Slovakia, Spain, Portugal and of course from the host school, the 11th Gymnasium of Thessaloniki, participated.
During the 1st day of activities, Monday, November 7, the guests were welcomed in the theater of the 11th Gymnasium of Thessaloniki. The planned activities then began to take place, starting with building a model of a small museum and programming a robot to move through the halls of that museum, each with an object or representative. image from each participating country.
On the 2nd day of activities, Tuesday 8 November, a visit was made to Noesis – Thessaloniki Science Center and Technology Museum, where it was possible to experience 360° astronomical projections in the Digital Planetarium, watch a short 3D documentary (Think big) in the Cosmoteatro, the combination of 3D images with synchronized movements in the 3D Simulator. You also had the opportunity to visit the Technology Museum.
On Wednesday, November 9, a day trip took place to the Archaeological Site of Vergina, where students and teachers came into contact with important ruins of the ancient royal capital of Macedonia and the ancient city of Edessa with its unique waterfalls.
On Thursday, November 10, the STEAM activities at the Museum's Technology Laboratory were completed. Then, in yet another journey into the past, a visit was made to the Upper Town, located in the northern part of the city, where visitors discovered many monuments of Ottoman and Byzantine culture, some of them UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
This rich experience was completed with a visit to the White Tower and the Archaeological Museum - on Friday 11 November - two important sites that preserve the rich artistic and cultural heritage of the city and Ancient Macedonia.
As a whole, this exchange allowed for the exchange of ideas and experiences, interaction between participants from the countries involved and, moreover, contact with local art and culture and learning about the evolution of technology from ancient times to the present day.
