Technology use for home learning

For advice on being safe online during home learning, please see the resources here: https://www.esafety.gov.au/key-issues/covid-19

Borrowing of devices

Students who require a device to complete their learning remotely have the option of borrowing from the school. They will receive the following:

  1. iPad and iPad charger (K-2 students)

  2. Laptop and charger (Years 3-6)

Devices will be signed out to families and we kindly request these devices are only used for home learning. They are not to be used for any other purpose and are subject to our responsible usage of devices guidelines. If you experience any difficulty with a borrowed device at home, please use the following form for IT support. If damage occurs to the device at home, please email the school so we can discuss the damage and any costs associated with replacement of devices.

While we test the device at school before they are loaned, occasionally devices may experience issues when connecting to your home network.

If you require a device for loan, please use the link below to complete the form.

If you complete this AFTER Sunday 11th July 7pm, the school will contact you regarding when your device can be collected

Seesaw- K-2 and SU

Seesaw is our primary platform for students to receive and upload their work. Each day students will need to logon and upload a photo/record themselves sharing their work with their teacher. Completion of tasks and attendance at Zoom is required for teachers to mark your child as learning from home.

Please note, if your child has not posted any work or attended a Zoom call, your teacher will contact you as we cannot mark students at present for remote learning without evidence of their work. Our teachers will be able to support you in any way if you are having technical difficulties or please refer to the below videos for help with Seesaw.

Seesaw class app- Please download

You will need to download a new app for home learning. The family app does not allow your child to upload work to their journal so you will need to access the CLASS app during this time of home learning or use a web browser.

The Seesaw class app is the only app which your child will use for uploading their work.

Download the app here: https://web.seesaw.me/platforms

If you already have the class app installed, please check you have downloaded the latest app versions for full access and functionality during home learning.

Printed guides

Your child will be provided with a home learning code from their teacher.

After selecting the 'Student', enter the code in the 'Text code' box.

Our students never use their email accounts to access Seesaw.

Zoom- K-2 and SU

Every day, your child will have a Zoom call with their teacher. During this daily video call, students will engage in learning as well as engage with their teacher and peers. This is a great way to maintain social connection and a chance to ask questions of their teacher if they are having trouble completing their online work.

Please contact your child's teacher if you are having trouble accessing Zoom. The most common difficulty is not being logged in to your child's account. Our Zoom call's are locked to Department of Education accounts only for student safety so please check you are logged in to their account (information about their logins has been sent via Seesaw).
