In the U.S alone there are enough straws used daily to wrap around the earth's circumference 2.5 times. This amounts to about 500 million straws, or enough straws to fill 125 school buses.
What can you do?
Refuse plastic straws at restaurants
Switch to alternatives such as: metal, bamboo, glass, silicone & my favorite the candy straw!
In the U.S on average citizens consume 167 water bottles a year, amounting to 70 million total water bottles each day. If every person were to make the switch from plastic water bottles to reusable we would save 1,460 plastic bottles per year.
What can you do?
Avoid buying single-use plastic water bottles
Invest in an alternative drinking bottles such as: stainless steel, glass or aluminum.
Don't panic if you forget!
Ask a restaurant for a glass/cup of water
Use a water fountain
1 trillion single-use plastic bags are used annually around the globe ...... that is about 2 million plastic bags EVERY MINUTE.
