Training to use MURS radios in a neighborhood communication scenario.
When the power goes out, connect with your neighbors to share information.
In a disaster situation, identify your neighborhood needs and get your message out.
If your neighborhood is having a work day, be able to communicate to many at once.
Learn what to communicate and how to be effective and efficient speaking by radio.
Learn about the CERT Communication Plan to relay important/urgent information to the County.
Learn how to avoid and resolve radio channel conflicts.
People from a given neighborhood or Firewise group can be trained together.
This will be an in-person training. Bring your MURS radio if you have one. Loaners are available for use during this training.

Take the next step. How to organize and lead your neighborhood to practice using MURS radios.
Be in the practice of keeping radios charged; Get people comfortable with operating a radio from time to time, repeatedly.
Have fun together, using a simple script that everyone can follow along with. Learn by doing!
