Accommodation Guide
Participants are kindly advised that budget accommodations in the vicinity of Seoul National University—particularly around the SNU Subway Station (Line 2)—may vary significantly in quality. Some low-cost options in this immediate area may not consistently meet international standards for cleanliness, safety, or overall comfort.
Considering both the quality of the stay and accessibility to the conference venue, Hoam Faculty House is strongly recommended. Since multiple events are scheduled on campus in August, participants are strongly encouraged to make their reservations as soon as their conference participation is confirmed.
While alternative accommodations may be chosen at your discretion, it is advisable to carefully review ratings and guest feedback prior to booking.
Our recommended accommodations include:

Transportation Guide
Using T-money
T-money is a rechargeable smart card widely used for public transportation in Korea, including subways, buses, and some taxis. It offers a convenient and cost-effect way to travel around Seoul.
Public transportation fares in Seoul are distance-based. When using T-money, transfers between buses and subways are free or discounted within a specified time limit (30 minutes during the day; longer during late-night hours).
Physical card: Available at convenience stores (e.g., GS25, CU, 7-Eleven). A one-time purchase fee applies (KRW 3,500-5,000 depending on the design and place of purchase). The card must be topped up at convenience stores or subway station kiosks before use.
Mobile option: Available via NFC-enabled smartphones. No issuance fee, but a small service fee may apply when adding balance, depending on the payment method.
Alternatively, a single-journey ticket may be purchased from kiosks at a subway station; however, it is valid for subway use only and does not allow for free or discounted transfers to buses. Click for more details.
Using the Climate Card
The Climate Card is a flat-rate public transportation pass offering unlimited rides on subways and buses within Seoul for a fixed period (e.g., 1-day, 3-day, 7-day, etc.). The card can be purchased for KRW 3,000 at major convenience stores (e.g., GS25, CU, 7-Eleven, Emart24) and subway stations, or downloaded to a smartphone. A time-based pass (e.g., 1 to 7 days) can be loaded to the card at ticket kiosks located within subway stations. It is a cost-effective option for visitors who plan to make multiple trips per day (e.g. 3-4 or more rides daily) over consecutive days. Coverage is limited to public transportation services within Seoul.
Note: The Climate Card is valid for travel from Seoul to the airport, but not from the airport to the city.
