Coed Rules
A team must have a minimum of 8 players to start a game (4 must be female)
If a male batter is walked, the female batter to follow must bat. They do not have the option of taking the walk to 1st. There is no minimum number of female players needed in the outfield.
If the pitcher is female, the catcher DOES NOT need to be male. Female-Male players can play in any position.
Grey dots or NSA balls must be used
In NSA men and women use a different sized ball, we will not be following this rule. All players will use the same ball provided by the home team, one new ball and one good used ball must be provided.
Casts (plaster, metal, or other hard substances) may not be worn during the game. Any exposed metal may be considered legal if covered by soft material and taped unless cleared with other team.
Men are to use wooden bats only, banned bats include bamboo and corndogs. Women can use aluminum bats.
In PSPA, you can play with 8 players but must have a minimum of 4 female players to play a game.
Late players cannot be added mid-inning. They can be added to the bottom of the batting order for the first full inning they are in attendance.
Male and female players must alternate in the batting order, either a male or female batter may bat first in the lineup. If more female players than male players, females will bat back-to-back.
No forward motion sliding.
No outfielder can throw a runner out at first.
Unlimited fielding substitutions allowed.
No tagging a runner that goes over the commitment line at home… force out only.
A catcher and pitcher must be in the proper position until each pitch has been delivered.
Any player having to be removed from a game simply is removed from the lineup with NO penalty but may NOT return to the game, batting must remain guy-girl.
NEW 2024
A complete game is recognized after the 1st pitch of the 4th inning.
There is a 10 minute grace period if a team does not have enough players, if the game eventually begins it starts based on the elapsed time.
If 1st game is forfeited the 2nd game starts 1/2 hour later (40 minutes)
If a player is ejected their spot in the line up is an automatic out the rest of the game.
Players asking for a runner from the fence must be a 1st baseman, 2nd or 3rd, catcher, pitcher or DH
Official game time is 1 hour and 15 minutes maximum, no new inning after 1 hour and 5 minutes (double header nights) 1 hour and 30 minutes maximum, no new inning after 1 hour and 20 minutes (single game nights)
6 run max inning, last inning is open
A player ejected must sit the following game/week, if a player is ejected a 2nd time they are done for the season.
