At the core of SLŌ is the culture of slow travel - this means extending travel durations into long-term stays in efforts to encourage more mindful, authentic, and educational travel experience. In a shift away from mass tourism, slow tourism is better for both the environment and host communities. Whether members are on or off-site, SLŌ offers a holistic travel experience that promotes slow living, learning, and leisure.
LIVING
SLŌ offers sustainable living and lifestyle experiences. In addition to private self-catering accommodations, members have full-access to our private and shared working spaces. Food and beverage across all properties are supplied by our urban roof-top farms. Community members can experience our fresh, seasonal, and locally harvested culinary selection via our world-class dining facilities or by shopping at our daily food markets. Once returning home, stay in touch through our active online community.
LEARNING
On an annual basis, SLŌ and its regional partners will identify the current needs of its host destinations and develop a set of certification courses and community-based projects that will be led by local experts, and offered to members throughout the year. This unique offering provides an ever-evolving opportunity to serve the current needs of the host destination while offering members with authentic, immersive, and educational experience that last far beyond their stay.
LEISURE
SLŌ offers a plethora of leisure experiences for members to slow down and reconnect with themselves, others, and nature. Attend any of our year round member-only and public events, feel refreshed at our on-site wellness and recreation facilities or participate in our fitness classes, visit the community centre and join an affinity group, or catch your breath at any of our on-site green spaces.
