Meet Your PTO

Rachel Seymour grew up in the Bethlehem School District, as did her husband Jay- but Slingerlands was new to them when their twins started Kindergarten here. Now in 5th grade, Emma and Jackson have enjoyed learning from fabulous teachers and staff, and had a blast with friends at every school event. This is Rachel’s sixth year on the PTO Board. “Giving back to this school community that has benefited my family so much important to me— but the truth is I’ve had so much fun doing it! Being involved in the events at the school are some of my favorite memories I’ve made here, and working with the other parents on committees has built a lot of great friendships. I love this school!”

I'm Lisa Maestro and my role on the Slingerlands PTO will be Co-President.  Currently I'm also serving as VP of events on the BCMS PTO board.  Clearly I enjoy volunteering and being involved in the school community!  

I'm a mom of 3 boys (rising 2nd grader, 5th grader, and 7th grader).  Our family stays busy with various sports (lots of swimming and baseball) throughout the year.  I'm a swim coach for the Bethlehem YMCA swim team.  I enjoy working with the kids and creating a love for the sport.  Our favorite place to travel is Hawaii - we take a trip every year to visit family.

My name is Ashley Loux. My husband and I have one son, Anthony, who is a second grader at Slingerlands. I have helped out on a variety of PTO committees over the past two years and I am excited to be joining the board this year as VP of Room Parents. I am a first grade teacher in Clifton Park in the Shenendehowa CSD and have a passion for helping children. In my free time, I love to read, garden, hike and spend time with my family. I am looking forward to a great year

II’ve been living in the district for a little over 7 years and I started my tenure as co-treasurer for the Slingerlands PTO in fall of 2023.  I have a background in business having earned an MBA from SUNY Albany in 2016.  Formerly, I worked in the pharmaceutical industry as a biochemist, but I now enjoy my time caring for my children and home.  I have three kids enrolled in district schools, the eldest (age 12) at the middle school and the younger two (ages 7 & 9) at Slingerlands Elementary.  Having been a second home to all three of my children, Slingerlands holds a special place in my heart and I look forward to continue serving the community as co-treasurer.

Jessica is the founder of The Hot Yoga Spot and cofounder of BARE Blends. She co-owns, operates and advises other wellness concepts throughout the Capital Region and loves having a career that helps people to live healthier and happier lives. Jessica enjoys family time and has been a proud room parent to both of her children's classes for three years running. 

Originally from Long Island, NY, Jessica relocated to the Capital Region in 2005 to attend the University at Albany. Jessica has always had a passion for teaching and helping others. She attended SUNY Albany as an undergraduate and received her Masters of Science in Social Studies Education in 2010. 

Jessica resides in Delmar with her husband (Mike), son, daughter and pit bull.

Mike was born and raised in Delmar, NY and is a proud graduate of Bethlehem HS. He is the youngest of five who mostly reside in Bethlehem and his mother Sheila was in Bethlehem Town Supervisor for almost a decade in the 90s. 

Mike works for Polar as the distribution manager for the state of NY.  He has been on the Bethlehem football board for the last two years and coaches each season. Mike spearheaded the youth basketball program at the Bethlehem YMCA and is excited to lead that again in 2025.

Mike resides in Delmar with his wife (Jessica), son, daughter and pit bull.

Shannon Blizinski is the second-year secretary of the Slingerlands PTO Board. She holds a Master’s degree in Human Resources and previously spent 12 years at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals in various roles. Shannon also served as a board member at Tri-Village Nursery School. Currently, she embraces her role as a stay-at-home mom with her three boys while actively volunteering in the community.
