Q. How do I use SomniLab?
A. After installing the app, review the required permissions during the initial setup and start recording your sleep data. You can enter sleep data manually, and some features also support image analysis and AI features. Your recorded data can be viewed in graphs and analysis screens.
Q. What should I do if the app crashes?
A. First, restart the app. If the issue continues, make sure your iPhone or iPad and the app are updated to the latest version. If the problem still persists, please contact support.
Q. What should I do if my subscription is not reflected?
A. Please restart the app and try the “Restore Purchases” option in Settings. If it is still not reflected, check your App Store purchase status and contact support.
Q. How can I transfer my sleep data to a new device?
A. We recommend using Apple’s backup feature for data transfer. On iPhone, enable iCloud Backup in the Settings app, create a backup, and then restore it on your new device.
Q. What data is sent when I use AI features?
A. When you use AI chat, AI radar advice, or image analysis, the app may send the text you entered, selected images, sleep metrics, language settings, date/time, and time zone information to our backend and Google Gemini API, only when necessary to provide the feature. Before any such data is sent, the app explains the details and asks for your consent.

- If the app does not open:
Restart your device and update both the OS and the app to the latest version.
- If your data is not displayed correctly:
Restart the app and check your input data and permission settings if necessary.
- If HealthKit data is not reflected:
Check the HealthKit permission settings in your iPhone Settings.
- If AI features are unavailable:
Check your internet connection and confirm that you have agreed to AI data sharing in the app settings.

4.0 Introduction
SomniLab (“the App”) values user privacy and is committed to protecting personal information and health-related data. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, uses, and shares, for what purposes, and what rights users have.
4.1 Information We Collect
The App may collect or handle the following types of information.
4.1.1 Advertising and Tracking Information
The App may collect advertising identifiers such as IDFA and other advertising-related information for ad delivery and ad performance measurement. Such information is used for personalized advertising only if the user grants permission through App Tracking Transparency (ATT).
4.1.2 Sleep and Health-Related Data
The App handles data entered by users, such as bedtime, wake-up time, sleep ratings, target sleep duration, and sleep analysis results. With user permission, the App may also access or reference the following data:
- Motion data (such as CoreMotion)
- Sleep-related data from HealthKit
- Sleep record images selected by the user
This data is used for sleep recording, visualization, analysis, and improvement suggestions.
4.1.3 Data Sent When Using AI Features
The App includes AI chat, AI radar advice, and image analysis features. Only when the user chooses to use these features and gives explicit prior consent, the App may send the following information to our backend and third-party AI services:
- Text entered by the user in AI chat
- Images selected by the user for image analysis
- Sleep metrics necessary to generate AI radar advice
Examples: sleep duration, sleep rating, SJL, SRI, sleep debt
- Technical information necessary to process the request
Examples: language settings, date/time, and time zone
4.2 How We Collect Information
The App collects information in the following ways:
- Information entered directly by the user
- Images explicitly selected by the user on the device
- Device sensors and OS-provided frameworks
Examples: CoreMotion and HealthKit
- Advertising SDKs
Example: Google AdMob
- Requests sent from the App to our backend when AI features are used
4.3 Purposes of Use
The App uses the collected information for the following purposes:
- To save, display, and analyze sleep records
- To visualize sleep patterns and show progress toward sleep goals
- To provide AI chat, AI radar advice, and image analysis features
- To deliver ads and measure or optimize ad performance
- To prevent misuse, respond to issues, and maintain security
4.4 Sharing with Third Parties
The App shares information with third parties only in the following cases.
4.4.1 Advertising
Advertising-related information may be shared with advertising partners for ad delivery and measurement.

4.4.2 AI Features
Only when the user chooses to use AI features and provides explicit prior consent, necessary data may be sent to:
- Our secure backend
- Google Gemini API provided by Google LLC
4.4.3 Health-Related Data
HealthKit data, motion data, sleep-related data, and other health-related information are not shared for advertising, marketing, or data broker purposes.
However, if the user chooses to use AI radar advice or image analysis and gives explicit prior consent, the minimum necessary sleep-related information or selected image may be sent to our backend and Google Gemini API in order to provide that feature.
4.5 Consent and Permissions
The App requests permission or consent as necessary for the following:
- ATT permission for advertising tracking
- Access permission for HealthKit
- Access permission for motion data
- Explicit consent for data sharing when using AI features
If a user does not grant consent, the relevant feature may not be available. Users can review or withdraw consent for AI data sharing from the Settings screen.
4.6 Data Storage, Retention, and Deletion
- Main data such as sleep records, goals, and analysis results are generally stored on the user’s device.
- Data sent for AI features may be retained as necessary for feature delivery, security maintenance, incident response, and legal compliance.
- Data that is no longer needed will be deleted, anonymized, or otherwise disabled within a reasonable period.
- Users may delete in-app data or stop access through the App’s data deletion function or the relevant OS permission settings.
4.7 Third-Party Protection Standards
The App requires third parties that receive user data to handle such data with a level of protection equal to or greater than that required by this Privacy Policy and applicable laws and guidelines.
4.8 User Rights
Users can:
- Allow or deny advertising tracking
- Allow or revoke permissions for HealthKit, motion data, and similar access
- Give or withdraw consent for AI data sharing
- Delete in-app data
