The University of Utah Health Sciences Campus. We will have an in-person event again this year! We are super excited to host all the contestants at the beautiful University of Utah Health Sciences Campus!
The Bee consists of the following two sections.
Real human brains, plastic models, and diagrams will be used to test your ability to identify specific brain regions and attempt to identify neurological disease.
A written question and answer segment will test your overall knowledge of neuroscience facts. There will be sections that test you on the brain, scientific methodology, neuro-history, etc. Please refer to our "How to Prepare" section for more information about Virtual Brain Bee study sessions, study materials, and access to our online Utah High School student Neuroscience community, the Utah Synapses!
Pre-Competition Neuroscience Modules!
During check-in, we will have Brain Awareness Week modules available. Students can choose different small group activities to join until the competition starts.
Ask Me Anything: Graduate Student Panel
We'll have an AMA with graduate and undergraduate students so the competitors can ask about the neuroscience and STEM fields or advice on college applications.
Laboratory Tour!
After the competition is ended, while the judges deliberate over scores, we will have a rotations through laboratories as researchers explain some of the great Neuroscience work being done at the University of Utah!

Take the Red line TRAX to University Medial Center. To get from the University Medical Center TRAX train station to HSEB, follow the red dotted line on the map.
Travel east on Fourth South to the University of Utah Campus. Once on campus, this road becomes South Campus Drive.
Travel east pass the Huntsman Center (approximately 1820 East)
At the traffic light, turn left onto Mario Capecchi Drive
Just before the next traffic light bear to the right onto Medical Drive South
Continue east uphill; take the right fork to stay onto Medical Drive South
While on Medical Drive South, HSEB will be on the left side.

Parking is free on weekends unless otherwise stated. Parking is indicated on the map by the red boxes with entrances marked by green boxes.
