Honey

Local, Raw, Pure

Slate Creek Farms began the adventure of bee keeping in the Spring of 2016. Baylee was doing a school project and that is what sparked the interest. Our son Easton has always struggled with allergies and was taking multiple medications twice a day just to make it through the day. Even with the medications he was still going through boxes of Kleenexes and having trouble sleeping. Baylee started telling us about the health benefits of bees, so we decided to give it a try. Thanks to the help of a local beekeeper and friend I soon found myself suiting up all over town and catching swarms one after another. We made several swarm boxes from plans off the internet and soon had four hives building in population on our farm. We did lose a swarm or two over the winter, but it was because the wildlife had nudged the top off the box while jumping the fence.

As you can see from the following pictures our hives look a little different then what most people use. I was researching different types of equipment and bee keeping techniques, and that is when I found Flow Hive. To be honest with you there is a lot of differing opinions out there about Flow Hive, but all I can say is our experience has been nothing but positive. Please feel free to contact us for more information and watch the video of our Flow Hive harvest below.
