S. Production began its theatrical productions in 2018 and was officially registered in Pingtung in January 2020.
Founded by three professional theatre practitioners (Chu Yi-wen, Lin Chien-hsin, and Chou Wei-ting), all graduates of the Department of Drama Creation and Application at National University of Tainan, we have established our creative base in a three-bedroom apartment. As "slashies" who wear multiple hats, each member brings diverse experiences and expertise, including directing, acting, and music design. We embrace creative freedom in our artistic journey while aspiring to apply theatre in various contexts—local communities, social spaces, and art education. Our works excel at integrating "non-standard performance spaces" with "local culture," aiming to expand the boundaries of theatre, make performing arts more diverse, engage broader audiences, and explore the unlimited possibilities of different spaces.
S. Production's works incorporate concerns for contemporary social issues and Taiwan's local culture. Our creative style combines various forms, including physical theatre, puppet shows, mask performance, and clowning. We are skilled at utilizing different mediums to craft multi-sensory experiences while actively engaging in exchanges and creative collaborations with local communities and young people. Our productions are rich in metaphor, weaving complex elements into works that are both concise and accessible, resulting in sophisticated performances that transcend age boundaries and blur the lines between reality and imagination.
