Here is how I proceeded with the creation of a small diorama with landscape.
The idea of this diorama was to be able to show different types of trees that I made from plants from the nature.

In this case, I started with a small piece of masonite board.
Glued the roadbed made of cork on the masonite board.
Cut off the roadbed along the edge of the masonite board.
Sanded the top of the roadbed with fine sandpaper to get a smooth surface for the track.
Glued the track to the roadbed.
Cut off the track along the edge of the masonite board.
Glued styrofoam on the masonite board.
Cut off the styrofoam along the edge of the masonite board.
Cut out contours roughly in the styrofoam.
Created the landscape in the styrofoam.
Filled the joints between the styrofoam parts.
Placed a sheet of paper as a cover on top of the track.
Taped the paper sheet.
Painted primer on the rock.
Painted the rock finished.
Painted primer on the ground.
Glued undergrowth.
Removed protective tape and sheets of paper from the track.
Glued ballast on the track.
Glued bushes in the landscape.
Glued trees in the landscape.
Painted diorama sides.
Glued details.
Placed the diorama in a picture frame and mounted lighting.
