The Symphonic Band is the top performing band at Sky View High School. Students will learn principles of advanced musicianship as well as continue to develop fundamental skills. Entry to this band is based on auditions.

The Concert Band is a full performing band at Sky View High School. Students will learn principles of advanced musicianship as well as continue to develop fundamental skills. Anyone can participate in this band.

Sky View's marching band has been a staple in Cache Valley since 1978. In 1982, the Sky View High School Marching Band placed second in the BOA Grand Nationals tournament and was a fierce competitor throughout the 80s and 90s. In 2014 and 2015, the band placed second at the BOA western regional tournament. In more recent years, the band has won the state championship in 3A in 2018, and has placed highly every year since. 2021 marked a historic year as Sky View made a return to the BOA western regional finals for an exhibition performance, after sweeping the 2A division. The Marching Band has consistently competed in the BOA regionals ever since then.

The Color Guard class at Sky View is a unique opportunity to participate in high quality instruction, preparation, and performance as a member of the Sky View Color Guard and Marching Band. Color guard members learn skills in using equipment such as flag, rifle, and saber, as well as movement, marching, and dance fundamentals.

Jazz Band is open to all Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors by audition and standard jazz band instrumentation. Auditions are held in November and rehearsals are held during the 2nd and 3rd trimesters. The Band performs music focusing on jazz and rock styles. The Jazz Band performs at various concerts and jazz festivals during the year.

During the basketball season, the Symphonic Band, Concert Band and percussion class will be organized into smaller groups to serve the function of the pep band. This will allow fewer performances to be required of each student but also provide opportunities to experience this exciting part of a high school band program.

The Percussion Ensemble is assembled from students of all ages at Sky View High School. It features both full ensemble pieces and smaller chamber pieces. The Percussion Ensemble also performs with both the Concert and Symphonic Bands at Sky View.
