This policy explains how an individual developer Kanta Hori (the "Developer") handles information in "Sky Share" (the "App"), an iPhone app. The Japanese version is the official text; this English version is a translation.
The App does not collect your real name, email address, phone number, precise location (GPS) or contacts. There is no sign-up with an email address or similar.
For Friends, the App stores only a name you choose yourself and the photo you choose as your icon, so that your friends, and the swap partner of a pair you sent ❤️ to, can see them. Your icon is resized to a square and redrawn on your iPhone, and location and other information (EXIF) is removed again on the server before it is stored.
The App does not read the photos in your photo library and does not save to the Photos app.
To make swaps work, the following is sent to the Developer's server:
An anonymous ID created by the App (not linked to any information outside the App)
Your time zone, the country from your iPhone's Region setting, whether to show your country to partners, and your display language
The address used to deliver notifications (push token) and your notification settings
The photos you take and when you took them. Photos are resized and redrawn on your iPhone, and information such as location (EXIF) is removed again on the server before storage
Records of swaps, reports and blocks
If you use Friends: your friend name, your icon photo (if you set one), friend code, who you follow, the ❤️ you send, and whether to show your skies to friends
To prevent mass registration, the connecting IP address is converted into an irreversible form (a hash) and used briefly to count attempts. The IP address itself is not stored.
Your swap partner sees your photo of the sky, the local time when it was taken, your country (only if you choose to show it), and the type of photo (taken at the same time, free shot, and so on). Your friend name and icon are never shown with the sky you swap (for ❤️ you send, see below). If your swap partner uses Friends, their friends also see your photo, its local time and your country (only if you choose to show it) as one half of the pair, for 24 hours.
Friends you follow each other with see your friend name and icon, the pair of skies you swapped that day (only if you choose to show it) and the local time of each. People you send a request to, or who send you one, see your friend name and icon.
The ❤️ you send is seen, with your friend name and icon, by the friend who showed that sky and by their swap partner for that pair (who may be a stranger to you). The swap partner can see it only while that pair is shown to friends.
Your anonymous ID, time zone name (city) and push token are never shown to anyone.
Information is used only to choose notification times and swap partners, deliver photos, let friends show each other their skies, prevent inappropriate content and abuse, and fix problems.
It is never used for advertising, sale, or analysis unrelated to the App.
Swapped photos: deleted from the server 48 hours after both people receive them, or after at most 7 days if not received
Photos waiting for a partner: deleted after at most 24 hours; photos kept as free shots, after at most 7 days
Pairs of skies shown to friends: no longer visible to friends 24 hours after you send your sky, then deleted on the schedule above. While a pair is shown, your swap partner's photo is not deleted either
Friend connections and ❤️: kept until you remove the friend or use "Delete all data"
Your icon photo: the previous photo is deleted as soon as you change or remove your icon; otherwise kept until you use "Delete all data"
Reported photos: kept until the Developer reviews them, for at most 30 days
Your anonymous ID, settings and swap records: kept until you use "Delete all data"
Records used to count registrations: deleted after at most 8 days
The App uses the following services. Information may be processed on servers outside Japan, such as in the United States.
Cloudflare, Inc.: servers and storage of data and photos
Expo (650 Industries, Inc.) and Apple Inc.: delivery of push notifications
Each service receives only the information it needs for its role.
Skies you receive (until you open and close them), copies of the photos you sent, and display settings are stored only on your iPhone.
The key used to connect to the server (token) is stored in your iPhone's Keychain. The server stores only an irreversible form (a hash) of it.
Tapping "Delete all data" in Settings deletes your ID, settings, photos, icon, swap records, friend connections and ❤️ from the server, and deletes the photos on your iPhone.
Report records (without photos) may be kept to prevent abuse. For suspended users, an irreversible form (a hash) of the push token is kept to prevent re-registration.
Deleting the App alone does not delete data on the server. Please use "Delete all data" first.
The App is not intended for children under 13. If we learn that we hold information from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly.
For questions about the App, please use the contact details on the Support page (https://sites.google.com/view/skyshareservice/support) , or "Contact us" in the App's Settings.
If this policy changes, you will be notified in the App.
