Prof. Lee, Dong-Yup








   

Dr. Dong-Yup Lee is an Associate Professor of the School of Chemical Engineering at the Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU), and leads both Process Design and Systems Engineering (PDSE) Lab at SKKU and Systems Biology group at the Bioprocessing Technology Institute, A*STAR. He has stellar track record and expertise in Multi-omics integration, Model-guided metabolic engineering, and Mammalian systems biotechnology. He has coauthored more than 130 research articles on these and other topics.

   His current research interests include Synthetic gene and fusion protein design for biotherapeutics, Microbiome and (synthetic-)microbial community interactions, and Health/energy/environmental policy modeling. His focus on application-oriented research has led to consultancy and industrial projects for many biopharma and biotech companies including Merck, GSK, Thermo Fisher Scientific, Baxalta, Shire, etc. He has served as associate editors and editorial board members of several Journals including Frontiers in Biotechnology and Bioengineering, Journal of Ginseng Research, etc. and also in the scientific advisory board of a Horizon 2020 EU project.
