제2회 ESACT 동물 세포 대사 및 생물공정 모델링 과정이 2024년 10월 13일부터 17일까지 스페인 라 프랑에서 성공적으로 개최되었습니다. 본 과정은 이동엽 교수(성균관대학교), Ioscani Jiménez del Val 교수(University College Dublin, 아일랜드)와의 Emma Petiot 박사(Université de Lyon, 프랑스)가 공동으로 조직하였으며, Colin Clarke교수(NIBRT, 아일랜드), Véronique Chotteau 교수(KTH, 스웨덴), Rui Oliveira 교수(NOVA University, 포르투갈), Meiyappan Lakshmanan교수(IIT Madras, 인도)를 포함한 7명의 주요 강사진과 다양한 분야의 산업계 및 학계에서 23명의 참가자들이 함께하였습니다.

참가자들은 동물 세포의 대사 활동 및 바이오 공정을 모델링 기술을 기반으로 이해하고 응용하기 위해 대사 모델링, kinetic 모델링, 하이브리드 모델링, 공정 분석 기술을 위한 화학적 모델링 및 다중오믹스 데이터 분석 등의 핵심적인 모델링 기술을 학습하였습니다. 뿐만 아니라, 강사와 참가자들은 자유로운 네트워킹과 토론을 통해 다양한 아이디어를 교환하며 유익한 시간을 가졌습니다.

The 2nd Metabolic and Bioprocess Modelling for Animal Cells Course 2024, coordinated by Prof. Dong-Yup Lee (Sungkyunkwan University, Republic of Korea), Prof. Ioscani Jiménez del Val (University College Dublin, Ireland), and Dr. Emma Petiot (Université de Lyon, France), successfully took place from October 13-17, 2024, in Llafranc, Spain. This course brought together 7 key lecturers including Prof. Colin Clarke (NIBRT, Ireland), Prof. Véronique Chotteau (KTH, Sweden), Prof. Rui Oliveira (NOVA University, Portugal), and Prof. Meiyappan Lakshmanan (IIT Madras, India), as well as 23 participants from both industry and academia, fostering a diverse and collaborative learning environment. 

Participants had the opportunity to learn key modeling techniques such as metabolic modeling, kinetic modeling, hybrid modeling, chemical modeling for process analysis, and multi-omics data analysis, in order to understand and apply the metabolic activities of animal cells and bioprocesses based on modeling technologies. The course also provided an excellent platform for networking and discussions, facilitating the exchange of ideas among lecturers and participants from various backgrounds.

2024년 3월 28일, 우리 연구실 연구 결과가 Cell Press가 발행하는 생명공학 분야의 권위 있는 저널인 Trends in Biotechnology에 온라인 게재되었습니다.  해당 논문은 글로벌 바이오의약품 생산공정의 digital transformation(DX)을 촉진할 수 있도록 맞춤형으로 설계된 디지털 CHO 가상세포 모델과 예측 시뮬레이션 기술들을 발표하였습니다.  

A research team comprised of Dr. Seo-Young Park, Dong-Hyuk Choi, Jinsung Song, and Professor Dong-Yup Lee reported the in-silico coupling analyses of Chinese hamster ovary genome-scale metabolic modeling for advanced biopharmaceutical R&D.  Their paper "Driving towards digital biomanufacturing by CHO genome-scale models" was published online in the Trends in Biotechnology on March 28, 2024.

2023.10.15~19 2023년 동물세포 대사 및 생물공정 모델링 강좌는 성균관대학교 이동엽 교수, 영국 Imperial College Cleo Kontoravdi 교수와 프랑스 Université de Lyon Emma Petiot 박사가 공동으로 조직한 행사로, 스페인의 라프랑에서 성공적으로 개최되었습니다. 이 강좌에는 산업 및 학계로부터 27명의 다양한 참가자들이 한 자리에 모였으며 참가자들은  대사 모델링, kinetic 모델링, 하이브리드 모델링, 전산유체역학, 공정 분석 기술을 위한 화학적 모델링 및 다중오믹스 데이터 분석 등 동물세포의 대사활동과 바이오공정을 모델기반으로 이해하고 응용하기위한 핵심적인 주제에 대해 학습하였습니다.

The Metabolic and Bioprocess Modelling for Animal Cells Course 2023, coordinated by Prof. Dong-Yup Lee (Sungkyunkwan University, Republic of Korea), Prof. Cleo Kontoravdi (Imperial College, UK) and Dr. Emma Petiot (Université de Lyon, France), was successfully held for the first time on Oct 15-19, 2023 at Llafranc, Spain. The course brought together a diverse group of 27 participants, representing both industry and academia. Participants were able to learn about a comprehensive array of topics related to modeling and data analysis techniques, including  metabolic modelling, kinetic modelling, hybrid kinetic/data-driven modelling, computational fluid dynamics, chemometric modelling for process analytical technologies, and multi-omics dataset and bioinformatics.

2023.07.23~27 Metabolic Pathway Analysis 국제 학회가 성균관대학교 600주년 기념관 조병두홀에서 이동엽 교수님의 주최 하에 성공적으로 개최되었습니다. UC 버클리 대학 Adam Arkin 교수, 캘리포니아 샌디에고 대학 Terry Hwa 교수, 카이스트 이상엽 교수 등 세계적인 석학들을 비롯하여, 총 19개국에서 약 140명의 인원이 참여하였습니다.

학회 중 리이칭 학생 '구두발표 우수상', 최동혁 학생 '포스터발표 우수상’을 수상하였습니다. 수상을 축하합니다!

The 9th Metabolic Pathway Analysis (MPA) International Conference, organized by Prof. Dong-Yup Lee, was successfully held on July 24-27, 2023 at Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU) in Seoul, Republic of Korea. 140 participants over 19 countries attended MPA conference, including distinguished scholars such as Prof. Adam Arkin (University of California, Berkeley), Terry Hwa (University of California, San Diego) and Sang-Yup Lee (KAIST).

University of Nebraska-Lincoln의 송현섭 교수님이 연사로 초청되어 "Data-Driven Modeling to Understand Microbial Intelligence and Complexity"에 대한 강연을 하였습니다.

송현섭 교수님, 이동엽 교수님, PDSE 연구원과 기타 참석자들 사이에 모델링에 대한 다각적인 토론의 장이 열린 유의미한 하루였습니다.
