Teacher Checklist
Check the Skis for Schools calendar for availability.
Contact the Skis for Schools Program Coordinator to make a booking.
Complete forms and submit to administration for approval.
Send home student permission forms.
Create a list of Volunteers and their contact information.
Fill in student names on Equipment Sizing/Tracking Sheet (shared with you by the Skis for Schools Program Coordinator).
Watch video "How to Size Ski Equipment".
Record student boot, ski and pole sizes on Equipment Sizing/Tracking Sheet and inform the Skis for Schools Program Coordinator once complete.
Tally and record total number of participants, sets of equipment borrowed and number of first time skiers on the bottom of the Equipment Sizing/Tracking Sheet.
Send "Cross-Country Ski Day Student Information Form" home for parent/guardian completion (optional) and review results to make student groups.
Invite Skis for Schools Program Coordinator to your school for a Pre-Trip Visit. (optional).
Watch video "How to Dress for a Ski Day".
Do the "K-Trail Warm Up" during DPA before your ski day.
Divide students into groups by skill level and assign a volunteer to each group.
Make copies of Trail Map for Volunteers/Student leaders.
Hit the trail and have some fun!
