Skis for Schools Program 

The goal of the Skis for Schools program is to create opportunities for children to be actively engaged outside through the enjoyment of cross-country skiing. 

A warm welcome is extended to schools and community programs that wish to use our inventory of ski equipment on the Kichi Sibi Winter Trail. This program has been made possible through generous donations to the Kichi Sibi Winter Trail organization and its volunteers. 

Details

Situated in the "Nordic Village" at Remic Rapids parking lot, we are ideally located to use our ski equipment along the beautiful (and groomed for classic and skate skiing) Kichi Sibi Winter Trail.  

A $5 donation for each set of equipment that is borrowed would be greatly appreciated.  If this is a barrier for your group, please let us know.

As part of a booking, you are responsible for providing the boot size, ski and pole length for each child in your group.  Check the Equipment tab for helpful sizing guidelines and then match your needs up with our boot, ski and pole equipment inventories. 

While we would love to offer ski instruction with your visit, we are not yet set up to do so.  The good news is that cross country skiing is an easy skill to learn, and having the opportunity to try it out is the best way to get started!

Donations

Skis for Schools will gratefully receive your cross-country ski equipment (skis, boots, bindings) to add to our inventory.  Note:  We are using the SNS binding system at this time.  Donations may be dropped off at the Reception Desk at Dovercourt Recreation Centre, 411 Dovercourt Avenue.
