The 2023 SkillsUSA European Championship Awards Ceremony was more exciting than ever. In addition to recognizing this year's top SkillsUSA competitors, two additional contests were offered to those in attendance at the Innovation Lab on Ramstein. AFN was onsite to capture the moment and provide video of the event.
Student teams were challenged to fly drones through obstacle courses both in manual mode and autonomous mode. Teams competed for prize money by having the best possible times during both phases. Students utilized their STEM skills to program the drones in the most efficient way possible.
The AFCEA Drone Challenge winners were:
1st Place: Tristan Anderson & Josiah Askew
2nd Place: Alexander Salas & Janus Schmidt
3rd Place: Devin Riding & Harmon Laatsch
