Dr. Sumin Kang obtained her PhD at Yonsei University in Korea in 2005 and did her postdoctoral training at the Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University before she was promoted to Assistant Professor in 2009. Dr. Kang's research interest is centered on a better understanding of protein kinase signaling as well as metabolic reprogramming in therapy resistance and tumor metastasis using translational and preclinical studies. Dr. Kang was supported with prestigious awards including ACS Basic Research Scholar Award, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Special Fellow Award, Head and Neck SPORE, Georgia Cancer Coalition Cancer Research Award, University Research Committee, and Robbins Scholar Award. Dr. Kang is currently serving as a PI on several extramural grants including multiple R01s, R21, and DoD Lung Cancer Research Program.
