Breaking News - No Food Truck for Midsommarfest

We received a call from Home Bites, our Food Truck vendor, advising us that his truck has developed some serious mechanical problems and the shop can't even begin working on it until Friday. He does not expect that it will be repaired in time for our event.

At this late date, finding an alternate food vendor is highly unlikely. For now, we're crossing our fingers for a speedy repair and doing our best to get the word out to everyone who might be coming to Midsommarfest. Hopefully, people can bring their own picnic food, pick up "take out" on the way to the park, or make reservations at The Lodge restaurant.

Kataliya Thai House (was Sri Uma Thai Cuisine), 7850 NE Bothell Way

Kidd Valley, 6434 Bothell Way

Jack in the Box, 6100 NE Bothell Way using their mobile app

Lake Forest Park Bar & Grill 17535 Ballinger Way NE, Lake Forest Park

  • Consider eating at The Lodge. We’ve given them a “heads up” that they may get a surge of hungry festival goers in the early afternoon or after the pole raising ceremony. If you choose to eat at The Lodge, here are your options:

Cedar & Elm restaurant offers brunch from 7 am - 2 pm. Reservations required. Make a dining reservation online here or call 425.321.1580.

Tonsorium Bar serves dinner from 5 pm - 9 pm and seating is on a first come-first served basis -- including seating outside.

One thing for sure--we’ll have plenty of stories to tell in the future about how we had a great Midsommarfest in spite of a missing Food Truck.

This website is the place to learn more about Skandia's Hybrid 2022 Midsommarfest! As always, we're working to create a positive, memorable Nordic cultural event that is well attended, fun for members, attracts new guests, and comes "out in the black" with minimal impact to the environment. For those who aren't familiar with Midsommarfest, it is a celebration of the summer solstice. Each Nordic country has it's own way to celebrate and the Main Event at Skandia's Midsommarfest features an authentic Swedish pole raising ceremony.
