Sk802 would not have existed without the mentorship, instruction, and inspiration from the nordic skaters in the greater East Coast (VT, NH, ME, NY) communities. We are grateful for skaters who have shared resources and given feedback. We welcome suggestions to continue to improve. The additional resources below are the relevant groups to join if you live in the Burlington area, as well as different websites managed by leaders in the East Coast skating community if you want to go further afield.
Must join if you plan to skate in VT

Jamie's Nordic Ice Skater site showcases a plethora of information on nordic skating - this includes gear, reading ice, where to skate, media covering the sport, and a list of groups and events. As the person who introduced nordic skating to Vermont, he has selflessly given numerous skating clinics and tours to the community each season. His skating coverage expands beyond the East Coast. His site lists online communities to join beyond Vermont, this is especially important if you want to attend his clinics which are posted in the NH group. He is based out of the upper valley in NH.

Dan's YouTube documents his skating around the Adirondacks and the surrounding areas. Stunning scenery - you would "wished you were there"! There are some instructional videos including a few of his ice clinics.

Chris' personal site, Catamount Hardware, includes a section on ice. There is nice map of skating options (focused on NH/VT) with descriptions and peer reviewed research articles about ice. His site lists online communities to join beyond Vermont.

Bob's Lake Ice page is the encyclopedia of lake ice from a "recreational perspective". It includes his detail-oriented research and discussions about lake ice organized by categories like cold water immersion, ice hazards, equipment and clothing, ice features, techniques, cautionary tales, ice science, and ice behavior. All are must reads if you plan to recreate on ice or have recreated on ice and wondered what you've experienced.
