Climate change and Urbanisation

Climate change and habitat changes are deadly duo, driving substantial biodiversity loss worldwide. We take the advantage of urbanisation of natural habitats in northern Taiwan to address how urbanisation and the associated microclimate changes affect local burying beetle communities.

We are interested to know how beetles respond, through their functional traits, to the impacts of urbanisation and climate change, and if they can sustain rapid environmental changes in their natural habitats.

This work is led by Jeff, with close collaboration with Dr Thomas Merckx.
