Here on the San Jose Job Corps campus, we have plenty of trades in many amazing career fields available for our students to learn. We partner with multiple schools to offer as many trade options as possible. Take a look at the different classes and trades that you can learn with us!
Student Block Schedule
Student Schedules are made with the following template in mind. This is an example of what a student's day can look like when they start classes on campus!
Career Preparation Period
Students start their time at Job Corps in the Career Preparation Period (CPP). This is a 4 week period where you will focus on MyPACE Goal Setting and Career Planning, and on the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE).Â
MyPACE helps students explore different career paths before they commit to specific certifications. It also helps set goals so that our students can reach for the stars!Â
The TABE is a placement test, where we are able to see what level our students are at academically. The goal is to hit a 12th grade reading and math level. If students are unable to reach that goal the first time, they are enrolled into academic classes to help them reach it!
Career Development Period
After you finish CPP, you enter the Career Development Period CDP. It's during this time that you'll work on getting your High School Diploma and start your trade certifications! Trades are offered either on our campus or at one of our partnership campuses. Take a look at what we have to offer our students.
