Richard began serving the Lord in 1986 as a bi-vocational minister, then entered full-time ministry in 1992. He has a passion to reach seekers and build believers through committed evangelism and community impact. His preaching style is best characterized as preacher-teacher. He is a Kentucky native who loves a good laugh and practical joke. Richard has a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from the University of Louisville, a Master of Divinity and a Master of Theology from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Pastoral Leadership from Northwestern. He and Stephanie, his high school sweetheart, have been married since 1986. They have two grown children and three grandchildren. Richard is an avid soccer fan, enjoys cooking, gardening, auto mechanics, and is a staunch UofL supporter. His motto is, “Dream as big as you can because you can’t out dream God!”

Jacqueline is a Louisville native who grew up in Pleasure Ridge Park and now resides in Valley Station. She has a Bachelor of Arts in English from Eastern Kentucky University, a Master of Arts in English from Florida State University, and a Master of Arts in Worship Leadership from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. She is married to Charles Hawkins and they have two son, Charles Michael and Grant. Jacqueline enjoys practicing vocal music, reading, and hiking. Through the worship ministry at SJBC, she hopes that believers will glorify God, build one another up in faith, and motivate one another to witness in the world.

Children’s Director
TJ holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology from the University of Louisville. He and his wife, Amy, grew up in Southwest Louisville and have two beautiful children. As our Children’s Director, TJ works alongside an amazing staff in our children’s department to ensure the message of Jesus Christ is presented to all of the children that visit us here at SJBC. TJ has a heart for teaching children in fun, interactive ways and for serving our community any way he can. His desire is for everyone that visits SJBC to experience the life changing power of Jesus. A true family man, he enjoys every day he gets to spend with his wife and children in their outdoor adventures together.

Logan holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics with minors in Marketing and International Business from the University of Louisville. While attending UofL he met his wife Kiersten as they served together at the Baptist Campus Ministry. As Education Director, Logan leads our Sunday School program, New Members class, and Discipleship efforts. He is passionate about equipping members with the tools for spiritual growth. Logan desires to see South Jefferson Baptist Church have a strong community of believers who live together and strive to see people come to know Christ. He enjoys watching sports, playing video games, listening to Christian rap and having a family.

Stephanie Carver
Mission and Ministries Coordinator
Stephanie plans mission outreach events and serves to connect people with ministry opportunities. She is married to our pastor, Bro. Richard, and they have two grown children and three grandchildren. Stephanie holds two degrees; Bachelor of Science in Education and a Master of Science. She loves working with people of all ages and enjoys teaching a children's Sunday School class and providing games/crafts during our Wednesday evening children's program called "The Way." When she was 10 years old, she gave her life to God and He has never left her side. She is excited about how God is moving in South Jefferson Baptist Church and the surrounding community as He continues to lead her on this adventurous journey through life and ministry.
Myra has two children and five grandchildren. She was born and raised in Louisville but spent 21 years in Florida where she built a successful pest control company. After retiring and moving back to Louisville she began seeking guidance from the Lord. He lead her to South Jefferson Baptist Church where she joined the church and later was offered the position she now holds and dearly loves. She feels the Lord has blessed her tremendously and in return she has promised to live the rest of her days through Him, glorifying His name in all she does. Her work here is different from the rest of the staff but she has learned God can be honored in a lot of different ways and what she is doing is exactly why He has placed her here. Myra says her joys in life are God, Family, which includes Abbie her 5 pound Yorky, and “UK” basketball. We do serve an awesome God!
