By the time we're writing this (Spring 2019), 3 tags are being used, that you may choose based on your sensitivity.
- Before any kind of interaction with a new person, read their bio. This is where people share what they're fine with or not. Ex.: 18+ account / SFW / NSFW / No RP / Open DM / etc…
- Never assume someone's size, kink, likes... If it isn't in their bio, politely ask them about it before engaging in something that might make them feel uncomfortable.
- On Size twitter, lines between SFW and NSFW are acceptably blurred. In order to be clear about your preferences, list in your name and/or bio that your account is SFW.
- The two most common strategies to manage the content on your TL is by muting certain words or unfollowing accounts that could make you uncomfortable. Blocking or reporting accounts is typically reserved for accounts that harass or post hate speech. For ex-Tumblr people, Watch the #gianttiny hashtag, which is intended for SFW use only.
- People may not always reply to your mentions and RT. It's fine. The TL is a fast paced feed and they may have missed it or been busy. Nothing personal, maybe next time!
Public interactions on the TL
- Unless you know the people in a two-person conversation very well, avoid jumping in the conversation.
- Is the conversation between more than two people? On a topic that clearly is directed at everyone? You may jump in and enrich the convo!
- Remember that everything you say on the TL is seen by everyone that is following you, and the person you’re tweeting with. Avoid sharing personal informations and matters that could make this person uncomfortable once publicly expressed.
- Need more privacy? Ask for permission before sending a DM to a new person. A polite tweet to this person once they've followed you will let you know whether they're OK with it or not.
- When tweeting an original creation from another source than twitter, always try to give a link to the source and credit the artist.
- When retweeting an original creation, some prefer to favor the simple "Retweet" over the "Retweet with Comment", so that the artist gets likes and comments directly on their original tweet. Others feel that a "Retweet with Comment" adds context and helps the promotion of the artist's work. When choosing the later option, like and comment on the original tweet first, as a token of your appreciation to the author.
- You don't have to be an artist to interact and take your part!
- Be curious, polite and willing to share your experience, your findings and your thoughts: Size Twitter is, first and foremost, a place to mutually explore a common fantasy and make friends.
- When someone follows you, it is generally appreciated that you follow them back, unless you're not in line with what they post.
- Someone just followed you! This is a great chance to say hello, start a conversation, and ask them why they're following you, what they like, don't like, etc…
- Mentioning people you know is generally appreciated.
- Someone new just arrived on Size Twitter ! Share with them what you wished people shared with you when you were new and...
- it's your turn to welcome!
