Welcome to the Soft and Biological Matter Laboratory, at the Department of Physics of the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur.  We focus on understanding and controlling the emergence of non-equilibrium polymer conformations, via quantitative experiments, and relate them with the resulting deviations in macroscopic properties of polymers or polymer-based soft materials systems. We are also interested in understanding the behavior of biological (proteins, bacterial suspensions, and biofilms) soft matter.
