My name is Sofía Hernández, i am 20 years old and i am currently studying English with an emphasis on translation at Universidad Latina de Panamá, i am passionate about music, makeup, and traveling.
Through my university career, i have been able to develop a broader vision of how languages connect cultures and people, in addition to strengthening my communication and analytical skills.
The university has provided me with experiences that not only shape me professionally, but also inspire me to grow personally and prepare for my future.

Mi nombre es Sofía Hernández, tengo 20 años y actualmente estudio inglés con énfasis en traducción en la Universidad Latina de Panamá, me gusta la música, el maquillaje y viajar
A través de mi carrera universitaria he podido desarrollar una visión más amplia sobre cómo los idiomas conectan culturas y personas, además de fortalecer mis habilidades comunicativas y de análisis.
La universidad me ha brindado experiencias que no solo me forman profesionalmente, sino que también me inspiran a crecer de manera personal y a prepararme para mi futuro.

Esta página web reúne mis trabajos del curso de Traducción Intercultural y refleja todo lo que aprendí durante el camino. A lo largo del semestre fui entendiendo mejor cómo el lenguaje, la cultura y nuestras propias experiencias influyen en la manera en que nos comunicamos, descubrí que traducir no es solo cambiar palabras de un idioma a otro, sino también reconocer diferencias, similitudes y formas de ver el mundo, gracias a este curso y a mi profesor, ahora me siento más preparada para comunicarme con personas de distintos contextos y para adaptar mi forma de expresarme según la situación, en general, esta experiencia me ayudó a valorar aún más la diversidad cultural y a entender la importancia de construir puentes entre culturas con respeto y sensibilidad.

This webpage brings together my work from the Intercultural Translation course and reflects everything I learned along the way. Throughout the semester, I began to understand more clearly how language, culture, and our own experiences influence the way we communicate, i discovered that translating is not just about switching words from one language to another, but also about recognizing differences, similarities, and different ways of seeing the world, thanks to this course and my professor, i now feel more prepared to communicate with people from different backgrounds and to adapt the way i express myself depending on the situation. Overall, this experience helped me appreciate cultural diversity even more and understand the importance of building bridges between cultures with respect and sensitivity.
