How It Works (2-Part Process)
Creating a custom Google Form with Form Styler consists of two main parts:Part 1: Create Your Form in Google Forms
Build your form and generate a pre-filled link (not the regular "Share" link). This special link allows you to customize the form's appearance.Part 2: Style It in SitesBuddy
Paste your pre-filled link into Form Styler, customize the design, and generate code to embed on your site.
Important: You MUST use a pre-filled link, not the standard "Share" link. They work differently - the pre-filled links allow you to create placeholder text (like “Your Email” or “Your Name”) and convert the form into a styled input-based layout. The standard share link does not contain this information.

How to create pre-filled link in GoogleForms?
❶ Step:
Create Your Google Form
- Open Google Forms
- Select "Blank Form"
3. Add your fields using "Short Answer" option:
- Name
- Message (or any other fields you need)
Important: Form Styler only works with Short answer fields.
It does not support multiple choice, checkboxes, dropdowns, file upload, date, or time fields.

❷ Step:
Get a Pre-Filled Link:
- Click the three dots (⋮) in the top-right corner of the editor.
- Select "Get pre-filled link"
3. A new form will open - add placeholder text:
- Email field: Type "Your Email"
- Name field: Type "Your Name"
- Message field: Type "Your Message"

❸ Step:
Open Google Form Styler in SitesBuddy
- Open SitesBuddy extension
- Click "Form Styler" widget
- Paste your pre-filled link
- Click "✨ Create Form"
Your form preview appears at the top.
❹ Step: Customize Your Form
Use the customization options to modify the form’s: borders, colors, button styles, and text size.Adjust everything to match your site’s design.
❺ Step:
Add to Your Google Site
- When you are happy with the design, click "Copy Code" to copy design to your clipboard.
- Click "Insert" → "Embed" → "Embed Code"
- Paste the code
- Click "Next" then "Insert"
Adjust the frame: Resize the embed frame in Google Sites to fit your layout - the widget will automatically adjust to the frame size and is fully responsive on all devices.
❻ Step:
Test Your Form
- Publish your Google Site
- Visit your live site and test the form
- Confirm that submissions appear in your Google Form responses
Troubleshooting
Form not displaying correctly?
- Make sure you copied the pre-filled link (not the regular form link)
- Check that you used "Short Answer" field types only
- Verify the code pasted correctly into the Embed Code section
Not receiving submissions?
- Test the original Google Form first to ensure it's working
- Check your Google Form "Responses" tab
- Verify the form isn't set to "Not accepting responses"
Form looks different on mobile?
- The form is responsive and will adapt to screen size
- Try adjusting the embed frame size in Google Sites
