Toki Pona Sitelen Emoji
There are two punctuation glyphs, ➖️ for a period (full stop) and ➗️ for a colon. However, for aesthetic reasons a new line is often used to end a sentence.
For proper names, the 🔣 character is used to enclose a phonetic spelling of it, similar to the sitelen pona cartouche.
For example: jan Sonja = 👤🔣🎁👋👇👤❗️🔣, which literally transliterates to jan _ sin o ni jan a _, but the words between the 🔣 character spell out the word in it, to read jan Sonja.
Due to convenience, it is not uncommon to see people online using latin for names (like 👤Sonja)
Toki Ma Sitelen Emoji
The rules for proper names are similar to those of Toki Pona (above), but syllables can be represented instead of single letters, and nena 👃 (smell) is reserved for the nasal -n
jan Sonja therefore becomes 👤🔣🧠👃🦖🔣, much shorter than the toki pona equivalent
Punctuation is 🔸 for commas, and 🔶 for periods/full stops.
Multidigit numbers are not written as they are spoken. They are written down as they are in math. 1️⃣2️⃣3️⃣0️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ , or 1️⃣2️⃣3️⃣🔸0️⃣0️⃣0️⃣, is 123, 000, which would be spoken out as "(wan) kenta tu ten san kilo"
