Community & Sustainable Development:
One of Sisters in Construction’s core values is development - development in a personal capacity, within the business environment, and most importantly, sustainable development within our communities that need it the most. Sisters in Construction has embarked on numerous charity initiatives under the banner of Kouthar’s Charitable Journey. From various feeding schemes, to clothing and educational distributions, the dispersal of Sharia and non-Sharia compliant wills under the legal wing of Advocate Muhammad Abduraouf and the biggest milestone Sisters in Construction has ever reached was to build an educational institute that is also used as a safe haven in Asanda Village, Strand. In addition to that, we have also assisted in the renovation of an orphanage in Zola, Strand. This was accomplished by putting aside 1% of the revenue made from each construction project completed by Sisters in Construction. Sisters in Construction would now like to help the community by building the first mosque in Asanda Village, Strand.
Our future prospects are to acquire opportunities for development so that our portion for charity can increase, thus resulting in an expansion of more community projects to be built and incorporating a social responsibility to that of the environment by implementing boreholes to save water, solar panels to save electricity, and getting the agricultural sector involved to teach people in low-cost communities to grow their own crops so that they can feed their families and also become entrepreneurs by selling the fruit and vegetables they grew.
