Conners first song was romantic to Raphina. she found it sweet that Conner wrote a song about her. this made her feel appricated by Conner. Conner was nervous about giving this song to raphina 

This breakthrough of confidence was essential to the band coming together and for them to have a model for they're music videos. this makes the band stand out that little bit more.

escapism

escapism was a key factor to this movie. this let Conner express himself a lot and for him to almost run away from his problems 

Conner was getting bullied in school not just by a student but the principal too. music led Conner to not care that much anymore and to let his feelings go.this made Conner feel able to express himself not just to his songs but everyone around him also .this was a key for the band to strive on and do as well as they did with their "gig".
