Who are the singers? Everyone! YOU! Anyone who wants to sing in solidarity and show up in resistance to authoritarianism.
Join us at a Community Sing and/or at a Singing ACTION Event.
In the context of escalating violence towards our communities and federal invasions of our cities and towns, we sing because song is an antidote to fear, song helps us connect to each other, and through song we can name and protect what we hold sacred.
We sing publicly in the streets for the sake of solace, strength, solidarity, to voice our dissent, and to refuse cooperation with oppressive and autocratic forces.
One of our goals is to tell the story of a loving, nonviolent, and joyful civil resistance movement in the US. Our singing actions are a powerful counter-narrative to the current regime's assertion that those on the Left are domestic terrorists. Through singing, we can quickly tell a story of who we are - loving, fierce, nonviolent. Join us in song!

MAY DAY STRONG is a national action advocating for “Workers Over Billionaires” - demanding fair wages, immigrant protections, and strengthened unions. The government has enough money to invest in wars and handouts to other countries but not enough for our healthcare, schools, and housing. So on May 1, we will demonstrate our economic power with NO WORK, NO SCHOOL, NO SHOPPING (as you’re able).
Join us in this economic disruption and in-person gathering in San Luis Obispo.
Singers - we have a slight adjustment in our plans for today’s gathering in San Luis Obispo. At 2pm SINGING RESISTANCE CENTRAL COAST (SRCC) will now be meeting at DeVaul Park (1651 Spooner Drive) to join with 805UndocuFund, Central Coast Labor Council, SLO 50501, and Indivisible SLO County.
There will be a food donation drive (see list of items needed) and a few speakers, including SRCC.
We will then march with everyone from the park to the intersection of Los Osos Valley Road and Froom Ranch Way for a sign-waving protest.
If you want to skip the activities at the park you can wait for us at the intersection of Los Osos Valley Road and Froom Ranch Way on the northwest corner. (We may move – to be decided.)
SRCC is a loving, nonviolent movement—rooted in courage, compassion, and collective care. We don’t just sing for the world we want— we sing to create it, right here and now. We sing to heal— from the weight of living in an oppressive system, to reconnect with our feelings, our voices, and each other. Because when we sing together, we move energy, we support our nervous systems, and we remember our grief, our courage, and our power.

We would love for you to join us - together we raise our voices in song and solidarity!
