We imagine raging fires,
Floods and deluge,
Earthquakes and volcanoes,
When we think of ‘Apocalypse’.
Who knew, who knew
It would be the unimagined
Tiny bombs floating in the air
That explode in our lungs
Who knew, who knew,
That we won’t all die,
That it won’t happen all at once
As we would have fancied.
That we would have to witness it,
Moment by moment, life by life,
Watch as one dies, then another
Until we lose track of numbers and faces,
Until theres no place to bury the dead,
No time to mourn them all,
No tears left to cry,
And no sympathy left ,
As we clutch onto our lives,
And those of our loved ones,
And turn insane and venomous.
Hoarding drugs and cylinders.
Turning killers ourselves,
Worse than tiny or big bombs.
Only humans can end,
What viruses just started.
You tease me from afar
With your curves dripping water,
Fresh out of the hot bath,
As you twist and turn and shine.
On many a lonely night
You have comforted me,
With your hotness down my throat
On the days I was sick.
But you’re no good for me—
You’re full of maida and salt,
And gluten and what not.
You, Maggi, let me go. Leave me alone.
I have tried to replace you
With fruits and nuts and sprouts.
But they’re not hot, they’re not spicy,
And they don’t comfort me.
How can I forget you
When I see you everywhere—
On YouTube, in IAP menu,
On TV, on the table next to me.
I don’t blame you, dear.
I blame Nestlé and Dupont,
And 3M and PepsiCo
For poisoning us,
To earn their money.
In thy name,
In thy holy name,
They massacre people.
And on their grave,
Build your temple.
//
“Thou shall die”,
Should the humans say,
Dead shall you be.
We humans shall rise,
With love and empathy.
That’s all we need.
We don’t need no God.
