Just 2 weeks after we built the Peace & Hope Early Learning Centre, I received a WhatsApp message in the early afternoon (10pm in Sindangan) that the mountain behind the Centre was on fire.

I immediately put a post on the P&H Facebook page informing nearly 700 followers and asking for prayers.

After a very tense couple of hours, I received another message saying the fire was out - it had come within metres of the boundary fence, no lives were lost and no property destroyed.

Over 1100 people saw the Facebook post and many commented and shared the post.

The following day, 11 children turned up for school.
