Nora Stanger

A child of poverty, Nora Stanger grew up in the foothills of Appalachia. She is a graduate of Berea College in Berea, KY with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology. She earned a Master of Science degree in clinical psychology from Abilene Christian University. Her professional experiences include providing psychological services to people with disabilities, acting as a professional/educational consultant on the culture of Appalachia and the culture of poverty, and encouraging people of poverty to finish high school, plan for and attend higher education, and expand their personal vision to a greater level than ever before realized. Some of the institutions and organizations who have called upon Nora’s gifts include: Ohio University, University of Cincinnati, Eastern Kentucky University, Hospice of Cincinnati, Mercy Hospitals of Cincinnati, Ohio College Access Network and various civic and church organizations.

Nora is a certified IMAGE Life Coach, assisting teens and adults in pursuing a career path that suits their interests and gifting. She is a motivational speaker with the gift of encouragement.

Nora's writing experiences were developed out of her family storytelling traditions. She has written numerous newspaper articles about her childhood experiences and is the author of Diamonds in the Dew: An Appalachian Experience. Nora is married to KC, has two grown daughters and lives in Loveland, OH.
