Faculty | Digital Sciences Initiative | Seed Project Grant Scheme. Project support application form. Closes 17 March.
The first stage will provide funds to support initial industry workshops and engagement activities. Up to $5k for domestic and $10k for prospective international partners will be provided to facilitate initial workshops and engagement activities to help develop a scope of work and model for engagement. These workshops will seek to identify potential collaborative projects between the industry partner(s) and the University. Up to 30 such projects will be funded per round.
Following the workshops, project descriptions will be requested that outline a scope of work that addresses an industry need. These projects will be expected to be completed over a 6-month period and will be funded up to $35k, with a maximum of $10k available to support equipment or consumables purchases and the balance available to employ a Research Associate, a student intern, technical staff or similar to help complete the work. Up to 10 such projects will be selected from the initial pool of funded projects.

NEW! Dept. of Education | Australia’s Economic Accelerator (AEA) Seed Grants (AEA Seed). Closes 17 March. (Applied research, renewable & low-emission technology, medical science, resources & agriculture, forestry & fisheries) - The AEA will promote research translation and commercialisation capacity through the establishment of a new funding program to invest in priority-driven objectives aligned with the National Reconstruction Fund.
Grants of between $50,000 and $500,000 are available per project.
Multiple grants may be awarded per project up to a maximum of $500,000 per project.
It is anticipated that most grants will be between $100,000 and $300,000 depending on the scope of the grant activity and its complexity.
Proposals seeking more than $200,000 must identify and cost at least two phases of work that break the project into distinct steps.
Australian Renewable Energy Agency
Advancing Renewables Program: The Advancing Renewables Program supports a broad range of development, demonstration and pre-commercial deployment projects that can deliver affordable and reliable renewable energy. This fund is continuously open to applications for all activities identified in the ARENA Investment Plan, except the identified competitive rounds. The Advancing Renewables Program (ARP) is continuously open for applications that address ARENA's Investment Priorities. Check the ARENA website for further details. Specific opportunities are also occasionally announced on the website .
Research and Development Program: The Research and Development Program supports groundbreaking projects that will increase the use of renewable energy technologies in Australia by making them competitive with conventional energy sources. There is one round per year, typically in the range of $500,000 - $5 million per grant, with the priorities changing each round. An Expression of Interest must be submitted to ARENA with full applications then invited for submission. Specific opportunities are occasionally announced.
