The Meta-Network is a regional platform that brings together scientists, organizations, policymakers, and practitioners to advance coastal and marine sustainability. By linking global and regional initiatives, it fosters collaboration, knowledge sharing, and innovation across disciplines. The network integrates research, governance, technology, and community action to co-develop solutions for the complex challenges facing our seas and coasts..
As part of the Future Earth Meta-Network Initiative, we are conducting a survey on collaboration, gaps, and opportunities in oceans, marginal seas, and coasts. Your insights will help shape a multi-scale “network of networks,” strengthen synergies across global to local programs, and guide future linkages, such as with the Asia Science Mission for Sustainability.
Organizations, research groups, and affiliated programs working in coastal or marginal sea regions are encouraged to contribute.
Organized by SIMSEA and Sun Yat-sen University in collaboration with the Future Earth Meta-Network Initiative, this meeting will gather regional partners to advance strategies for a multi-scale socio-ecological monitoring network. Key activities include country presentations, thematic working group discussions, and integrative planning workshops. Read more.
