Robert Chew co-founded Commissioning Agents, Inc. in 1996. Today, CAI is a leader in helping companies achieve faster project delivery to operational readiness, and higher levels of performance and reliability from their GMP-regulated manufacturing operations. Mr. Chew is an internationally recognized consultant in the areas of project delivery, operational readiness, risk-based qualification, validation, ASTM E2500, and ICH-Q9, Quality Risk Management.
Mr. Chew provides consulting to some of the largest pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies in the world. Over the past two decades, he has spoken at international conferences in the US, Europe, Asia, and South America. He is a member of the Global Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Leadership Forum.
Mr. Chew served on ISPE's International Board of Directors from 2004 – 2007 and was the society's 2008 Member of the Year. In 2017, he was awarded ISPE's Richard G. Purdy Professional Achievement Award. He served on the task team that created ASTM E2500 to improve how the industry does qualification.
Mr. Chew began his career as a US Naval Officer, serving on a nuclear submarine. He has a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University and is a registered Professional Engineer.
