I have set it up so that when the user log into my own custom CMS membership site, he/she is logged in automatically to his/her corresponding account on the forum. However it works on my localhost but online its not working at all.. I log into my site and then browse to the forum to find out I havent been logged in there :( - I think its not creating the cookies or registering the session.. where should I look here. Please do help.
I think I've traced the problem - for some reason the forum is maintaining a different session than the session started on my website. This is strange as the forum is only in a subfolder on the same site. WHat should I check for here?

Hey all, i'm using SMF for my forums for a long time now, and i can tell you all thats its the best software for creating a forum. many features, many options, nice admin panel, fast and less space required.
This is one of the best forum options out there, especially since its free. Very comparable to Invision and well maintained. I would have rated it a straight 5, BUT due to issues with Bridges to CMS, which is almost always needed, had to drop it one.If you are thinking to install version 2 it has many MAJOR issues with its SSI interface to integrate the script into your CMS.
I've been using SMP for four year. I wouldn't use anything else. It's easy to customize and the simple machines crew are quick to respond to technical questions... often walking me through things I have no clue about.. quite friendly for the novice

Is there any software that I can use to design simple machines? For example, setup a motor to a threaded rod to make a linear actuator and connect that to a knife for example. I saw some videos for CAD software but It looks like that kind of software was for designing a gear or what not as opposed to connecting things together.

I am attempting to setup the SMF login for a forum that is restricted to members only. When a student buys a course, we create an SMF login for them so they can participate in the forum. We never have a use case of someone signing up for the forum itself. Can I restrict logins to SMF existing users?
We have one issue, the ARmember plugin has to confirm payment before giving students access to the WordPress private area as well as the SMF forum. So when OneAll pushes the userlogin to the cloud and creates the SMF login from the Wordpress login, this will give premature access to a student whose payment fails. e24fc04721
