 1. download the file attached to the patreon post:

 2. download any required mod if mentioned (usually xml injector)

- if a required mod is needed, it is always stated at the beginning of my posts

 3. move the downloaded files to the mods folder in "Electronic Arts / The Sims 4/Mods"

- my mods can be placed in subfolders, as they only use  ".package" files

- xml injector is a script mod and should be placed no deeper than one subfolder

4. make sure "custom content and mods" are enabled in "menu -> game options -> other", then restart the game

1. try to keep your mods folder under 10 gb. it can help reduce loading times and issues (mine is under 6 gb)

2. organize mods into subfolders by creator or by category. do not place script mods (.ts4script) deeper than one subfolder!

3. disable automatic game updates and update only after checking your mods. when updating mods, use the scarlet’s realm mod list.

4. remove mods you are not currently using.
important: before removing a mod, it’s recommended to remove any objects added by that mod from your lot to avoid possible lot or save issues.

5. download 'better exceptions' mod by tmex and use it from time to time to check your mods. in the menu select: load exception, check conflicts, run patch compatibility.

6. the easiest way to clean custom content is using the 'tray importer'. save your sims and lots, then use the program to find all the cc you use and remove the rest.
