1. make sure the mod file is placed in the mods folder

 2. make sure 'custom content and mods' are enabled in 'menu' -> 'game options' -> 'other'

 3. check that you downloaded all required mods if mentioned (usually xml injector). make sure it is updated to the latest version!

4. if any mod includes a 'ts4script' file make sure it is not placed deeper than one subfolder.

1. rename your 'mods' folder to 'mods 2'. create a new mods folder and place only my mod and the required mod, usually 'xml injector', inside;

2. delete the 'localthumbcache' file in the the sims 4 folder;

3. start the game and open a new save. check if the mod works;

4. if it does not work, please contact me. if it works, continue to the next step.

carefully read the mod information

1. make sure you are clicking the correct object, looking in the right place, and using a supported age group;

2. check any limitations mentioned in the post;

3. also check if conflicting mods are listed in the post and whether you have them installed.

1. move all files from 'mods' back into 'mods 2'. delete the empty 'mods' folder and rename 'mods 2' back to mods;

2. download the 'better exception' mod by tmex and place it in the mods folder;

3. start the game and load any household. a notification from better exceptions will appear. open the menu and use 'check conflicts'.

4. if no conflict is found, use the 50/50 method.

- split your mods folder into two parts. test the game with one part at a time. (always keep my mod and the required mod in all tests). one half should work and the other should not.

- split the broken half again and repeat until the conflicting mod is found.

5. after that, you can decide whether to use my mod or the conflicting one.

please let me know which mod causes the conflict. i may be able to reduce the issue or at least warn other simmers.
