During our practicum, Mr. Tam, a supervisor and a teacher in history and geography class discussed to us the content of our lesson as well as in preparing our lesson plan. We were given ample of time to prepare the instructional materials that we will be using such the powerpoint presentations and worksheets for students. We were also advised to provide activities that students can actively engage and develop self-study.
This is me during my classroom demonstration as I facilitate my Grade 8 class in their group activity.
In my part since I taught geography and most of my topics are about labor and employment, minerals and memory map, I provided my instructional materials with graphs, maps and images to aid teaching and learning process. I provided activities that allow student to work with a group and developed collaboration with others.
During my demonstration, I make sure to asked questions that will encouraged students to exchange knowledge. Through this, they can developed their critical thinking skills and broadened their perspective.
