This International Pre-Service Student Exchange Program of the SEAMEO gave us the opportunity to have our teaching experience in other countries in Southeast Asia and developed our teaching skills and pedagogy. This program allowed us to broadened our perspective and world views in the diverse teaching and learning situations.
The 21 days journey allowed us to have our class observations in the actual school environment, conduct classroom demonstrations and exposure to the educational system of Future Primary School which gave us the opportunity to experience different methods in teaching, developed intercultural understanding and immense ourselves in a new learning environment composed of diverse learners and teachers.
I recommend that the sending universities will allow students to choose their country of destination during practicum period. Also, if it is possible to conduct our practicum in a long period of time to give students ample of time to have their teaching experience in other countries.
