The Harris Silviculture Lab studies how forest stands grow, develop, and respond to management. Our work combines field-based silviculture, forest biometrics, long-term inventory, and quantitative analysis to address applied questions in forest growth, productivity, management, and the sustainable use of forest resources.

Silviculture

We study how forest stands develop and respond to management, with emphasis on regeneration, competition, stand structure, thinning, and silvicultural systems.
