Woodstone Manor is currently owned by Ophelia Mitchell who inherited it in 2022 from her Great Aunt Ethel. Ophelia has restored the once grand estate and stable to its original splendor, only updated for modern convivences. The barn has expanded to other properties across Jorvik to give their riders more options for riding and living.
Woodstone Manor was built in the late 1700s by a British-Loyalist family that had fled the newly independent United States. The family settled in and was well liked, hosting parties, hunts, and more at their estate. In 1895, the family suddenly moved, abandoning most their horses, staff, and the manor. To this day, no one knows why they left or where they went.
Throughout the 1900s, Woodstone Manor was purchased and sold, renamed by every owner. In 2000, American-born William Barrows purchased the estate with his wife Ethel. The two opened it as a boarding property and both lived there until their deaths. Ethel was the one who was interested in the history of their new home, and restored it to his original name of Woodstone Manor.
