Gifted Education: 30 hours for our district certification; Bertie Kingore Talented & Gifted Training; Brian Housand Gifted 360 trainings to inspire gifted students; ongoing trainings at monthly district meetings
English as a Second Language: Ongoing training to consider Best Practice for growing student confidence with all modes of communication - These are great teaching skills with all students. Specific training with wait time for “coding between languages” which is key to success when any student is learning a new language or struggling with a new concept
Writing: Special Sections Editor for a regional newspaper; Copywriting and Advertising Account Executive for two magazine corporations; Media Director at an advertising agency; Heart of Texas Writing participant and Early Career Teacher Mentor; researched, developed and led four professional development teacher workshops for Round Rock ISD

Mrs. Schoener is super fun mainly because she tells us lots of stories and is super personal. She is strict with grammar in a fun way because she used to be a writing teacher. She also writes lots of word problems that are silly and fun. She’s super clear when she’s teaching math and she makes it really easy to understand math. She was my favorite teacher!

Mrs. Schoener is the best teacher I have ever had. She always pushes her students to be the best they can be and yet learning with her is always fun and motivating. She teaches and explains everything in the best way possible to help everyone learn and if her students don’t understand a subject then she will help them as much as possible.

Mrs. Schoener was an incredible teacher. She has always been the perfect balance of work hard and have fun, and she got me ready and then some for the challenge of middle school math. In a lot of math classes it is hard to remember all of the obscure formulas and random information they are throwing at you, but I never had this problem with Mrs. Schoener. She was great at making math truly fun, and I was always excited to go out to class.

Ms. Schoener was a great teacher to me all throughout elementary school. She always helped students when they struggled with a topic and was able to personalize her teaching to what best suited specific students. I would definitely recommend Ms. Schoener to anyone who is seeking extra help.

I love Mrs. Schoener. Every day, when I walked into her classroom, I'd think, “This is going to be a good day.” She develops strong connections with each student and makes them feel like they belong. She cracks jokes every chance she gets (not in a bad way). She even makes learning measures of spread fun!

Mrs. Schoener has been such a gift to our family. She has taught both of my children and they both feel like she is the best teacher they’ve ever had.
She has the ability to keep the kids in line while still making everything fun. My kids are different in personality, but she gets what each of them needed to succeed. I don’t know how she knows what they are actually thinking when they do math problems, but she can course correct them in a way that they understand and get them on the right path quickly.
She’s given them confidence in their abilities and has helped them bloom as students and as people. I’m so grateful to her for what she’s done for our kids.
