Battery Recycling - School Drives

Earth Day (April 22, 2022)

To raise awareness among teens and celebrate Earth Day, we initiated a battery drive event at my school, Silicon Valley International School (INTL), during April the month of Earth Day. The initiative was met with enthusiasm and full support form school and the community. Overall, the event collected over 3400 batteries from both INTL campuses (Palo Alto, Menlo Park) for recycling.

World Soil Day (December 5, 2022)

We ran a a second battery collection drive in the winter of 2022 for World Soil Day, jointly with INTL Student Council’s Environmental Committee. With energized volunteers, we collected and recycled another 3080 batteries on the Upper School Menlo Park campus.
